A player has achieved what many probably dream of in Rainbow Six Siege: turning around a hopeless round alone. But instead of gratitude from his team, he was kicked from the lobby. Thousands of players are now celebrating him for his achievement.
What did the player do? The player and Reddit user Byrdman1023 played as Doc on Fortress as a defender in one round. Shortly after the round began, two of his teammates died and it was three against five.
Only a few seconds later, his two remaining teammates die, taking only one opponent with them – he is now alone against four enemy players.
Instead of giving up the situation, he cautiously approaches the place where the action was taking place shortly before and encounters a Blitz. At a disadvantageous moment, he moves his shield aside and gets a headshot.
While he is then stopped by a Montagne, the opposing Jackal tracks him down with his ability and attacks him. Byrdman1023 reacts quickly and takes out Jackal before he passes Montagne and kills the third opponent with a headshot despite a flashbang.
Finally, only Montagne is left, who makes the same mistake as Blitz and is also taken out. Subsequently, while the victory of the round is announced, the message appears that he has been removed from the game. The corresponding clip has already received over 9,800 upvotes within 14 hours:
Why was he kicked? The remaining team members unconditionally kicked Byrdman1023 from the team, and in the corresponding Reddit thread, no one can explain why. Players suspect trolls or simply a toxic part of the community behind it.
Among Rainbow players, the humorous expression “Clutch or Kick” is popular, meaning: Win the round against overwhelming opponents, or we kick you out. In this case, it seems both just happened.
Problems with toxic players?
There have been reports for some time in Rainbow Six about players displaying unfriendly or even unfair behavior. There was even a time when cheaters could simply kick you from the match. Ubisoft, however, has put a stop to that.
Whether poor behavior is a real problem is hard to say. Demanding games like Rainbow Six often lead to emotional outbursts, and no shooter is really exempt from that. However, there are not overly many reports of toxic behavior in Ubisoft’s tactical shooter.
However, some fans have recently made headlines for other actions. Thousands of players want to ensure that a memorial for the late YouTuber IceyCat is erected in the game.
A smaller group is advocating for their favorite operator in the game. Tachanka, who has been in Rainbow Six since its release, is supposed to receive a rework in an upcoming update. 200 players don’t want that, though, and have started a petition to keep their “Lord” just as he is and how they love him.
