Currently, some players are complaining about issues with their accounts in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Content disappears and cannot be restored. What is going on?
Many fans are eagerly waiting for Treyarch to finally reveal new details about the upcoming Operation Apocalypse Z (starting on July 9 on PS4). However, some players are waiting for a completely different statement from the developers.
What are players complaining about? Since July 4, some players have been complaining that content from their accounts in Black Ops 4 simply disappears.
They are logged into their profiles and can play, but previously earned content is missing and cannot be used in the game anymore. This includes various skins, weapons, calling cards, stickers, characters, Nebulium Plasma for Zombies, and more. Previously earned reserves are also now history. Especially frustrating: content purchased with real money is also gone.
Attempts to restore content such as logging in and out, restarting, or even reinstalling the game have not solved the problem currently. Activision’s support has since intervened. However, those affected are still waiting for a solution from the developers.
Where is the problem? This is still not clear at the moment. The full extent of this phenomenon is also not yet visible. While the number of affected players is currently manageable, some of them say that many more friends and acquaintances are experiencing the same issues and that not enough is being said about it.
How are those affected reacting? Some players are now uncertain about this, and some even want to refrain from playing for the time being. They do not want to lose their progress and thus further new content like supply crates or tier rewards.
Especially in the USA, this is ruining some players’ mood during the long holiday weekend. However, some fans are taking it humorously and jokingly noted that this is now the consequence of supporting microtransactions.
What do the developers say? Activision’s support is already working on this issue and collecting data from those affected. There is currently no solution. It is not known whether the accounts and all their content can be completely restored. If you are also suffering from this phenomenon, you should contact support, according to Activision.
There are also problems here: There are apparently similar problems in Black Ops 3 as well. While some are waiting for a corresponding solution from the developers, they wanted to pass the time with some rounds of Black Ops 3. However, they were also surprised to find that there are similar problems there. It seems that some content is also missing in the predecessor.
Are you also affected by this problem, or is everything working fine for you? Would you still play if you lost all your content?
