PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) is struggling to cope with the player masses. These are now delaying the start of the new leaderboard season of the shooter.
When many gamers are interested in a video game, that seems like good news at first glance. However, extremely high player numbers regularly present new challenges. This means that the servers need to be improved and other areas of the game adjusted.
There are problems now with the start of the new leaderboard season in PUBG; the date has been postponed.
PUBG Season starts in mid-October
On the Steam community page for PUBG, the developers apologize to the players who have been waiting for the leaderboard reset. The new season was supposed to start on October 11, but that won’t happen.
Because the number of concurrent players in PUBG is skyrocketing, the development team is worried. An immediate season start would jeopardize the stable gaming experience for the fans of the battle royale. The developers do not want to take that risk.
To provide a more reliable service, some improvements to the back-end must first be made. Previous maintenance work is necessary. This results in the following new schedule for the seasons:
- The current seasons ended on October 10 at 04:00 AM German time.
- The new leaderboard season begins on
October 17 at 04:00 AM German time.October 20.
You can continue to play PUBG during the time between the seasons, but results will not be recorded. Furthermore, the developers point out that there might be maintenance work again before the start of the new season.
