PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is also set to be released on Xbox One and PS4. However, that’s not enough. The developers would like to have cross-platform play between PC and consoles as well.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently only available for PC and there the battle royale game is already achieving great success. A version for Xbox One is expected to be released in 2017 and a PS4 version is supposed to become a reality in 2018.
But the developers at Bluehole do not want to limit it to everyone playing on their own machines. They are aiming for cross-platform play in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

According to a interview on VG24/7, cross-platform play is something the developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds would definitely like to do.
But at the same time, the questioned developer Chang Han Kim (Executive Producer) took a step back. Yes, they really want to do it, but then the question arises as to how that would work with controls.
PC players have an advantage with mouse and keyboard over console players with their gamepads. However, console players would receive aim assists. These would be unfair in a fight against PC players who do not have such an “aim-bot”. The whole thing is still very difficult, which is why they want to take another look at everything at Bluehole and tackle it later. Thus, the cross-platform feature is currently not on the priority list.
