Recently, PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) banned a bunch of innocent players, although they actually want to get rid of cheaters. Affected players have now received BattlePoints as compensation.
Get rid of cheaters! PUBG regularly updates its protection against fraudsters who want to gain advantages in the battle royale shooter through cheats like aimbots or speedhacks. A recent update went a bit overboard. “Sometimes mistakes happen,” the developers explain.
Oops: The protection worked so zealously that some shooter friends were thrown out of the game, even though they did nothing wrong. Because of the ban, they couldn’t log into the game for days.
A compensation of 20,000 BP
Bans now lifted: Many of the wrongly banned players can now play PUBG again, but are rightly frustrated. The developers assure that they continue to work on cheat detection and ask players for patience if false bans occur.
At least there’s compensation: “Affected players will be credited 20,000 BattlePoints as an apology from us.”
Who gets the 20k BP? Players who wanted to log in between 8 PM and 10:30 PM on June 16 in version 3.8.38.15. And all those who were falsely banned. The BP should already be credited to your accounts.What to do with so much BP? For 20,000 BP, you can buy many crates in PUBG, which hide cosmetic items. The prices for crates start at 700 BP but increase with each subsequent crate.
