Sony announced the price and release of PSVR2 in the official blog post. After the price of the DualSense Edge shocked many gamers, they have now also introduced the price for the new VR headset.
Sony has introduced two different editions for PSVR2. In addition, there will be a charging station for the special controllers of PSVR2 available for order just in time for the release.
PSVR2 will be released in February 2023 and costs 600 Euros
When is PSVR2 coming out? The device for the PS5 is officially scheduled for release on February 22, 2023.
What will it cost?
- The price in Germany is 599.99 Euros, which is higher than the entry price of the predecessor model.
- There will also be an edition with the exclusive game “Horizon Call of the Mountain”. Here, the price is 649.99 Euros. Included are the hardware and the game.
- You will have to pay 49.99 Euros for the controller charging station.
What is included in the price? The price includes the VR headset, two controllers, and headphones.
How much is the price? For the predecessor model of the PS4, the price was 399.99 Euros. However, Sony later reduced the RRP to 299.99 Euros. The price has roughly doubled compared to the predecessor model.
Whether Sony will lower the price again later, as they did with the predecessor, is still unknown. This will certainly depend on the success of the new system. PSVR2 will definitely not be backward compatible with old VR games.
