PSN Down: On February 1st, there will be unannounced maintenance [Update]

Clearly, the PlayStation Network (PSN) is experiencing problems on February 1st. Twitter users are reporting that they cannot use the service, as maintenance is taking place.

On Monday, February 1st, there seem to be issues with the PSN. Last month, on January 4th, there were already serious problems, which caused major issues. It appears that there are also problems on the first Monday of the month, February 1st.

Currently, there is no comment from Sony regarding the status of the PSN. The service’s website also indicates: Everything is great.

Numerous comments from disappointed users tell a different story. They wanted to use the service in the European evening to play online, perhaps for the The Division Beta or the last day of Iron Banner in Destiny. But they receive the message “The PlayStation Network is currently undergoing maintenance (WS-37432-9).” So they cannot play online games on PlayStation.

We will inform you if something changes in this regard. Currently, it is not known when the PSN will be functional again. The PSN is down.

Update: The German Twitter account of PlayStation has now released a statement regarding the problems on Monday evening.

Currently, there may be issues connecting to the PSN. We are already working on a solution to the problem.

Update: More and more users are reporting that the PSN is functioning again. It seems to have been a significantly smaller problem compared to last month. To those for whom it is working again: Enjoy your online game of choice and have a nice Monday evening.
