Sony presented the first images of the new design of the PlayStation 5 in the live stream on June 11. At least one of our wishes for the PS5 event has come true.

The PS5 design breaks with tradition
The design is fundamentally different from previous PlayStation consoles.
Because the new console does not rely on a black design like the PlayStation 4. Sony opts for a completely new, white appearance.
Instead, the PlayStation 5’s design is strongly reminiscent of the already presented PS5 “Dualsense” controller. This one also has a black-and-white design.
Also surprising is the vertical design: The older generations were always horizontal. The PS4 also offered a trick to stand vertically. But it looks like the PS5 could also lie down like the PS4:
PlayStation 5: For the first time, there is a Digital Edition
Additionally, Sony has introduced another special feature: There will be a digital edition. This means that this version does not have a drive, but offers a cheaper price.
Microsoft has taken a similar path with the Xbox One S Digital Edition as Sony is now doing with the PlayStation 5.

Sony is also introducing additional hardware around the PlayStation 5. This includes, alongside the console and Dualsense controller…

The reaction to the new design of the PlayStation 5 varies.
I am not thrilled with the design, but at least it is unique. At this point, Sony has given me no reason to buy at launch. I will stick with the Pro for now.
