A Sony employee is obviously having fun with Starfield – much to the dismay of a player who subsequently demands her dismissal.
Starfield offers countless planets, but limits players in exploration. Instead of walking or flying to a location independently, players rely on fast travel.
However, a female player wanted to find out what exactly happens when one travels independently to a planet. The explorer flew for 7 hours to Pluto and streamed her expedition live on Twitch. Meanwhile, she was obviously having fun and enjoyed Bethesda’s role-playing game – a Twitter user, however, did not appreciate the explorer’s joy and even demanded her dismissal.
The “problem”: The player in question is Alanah Pearce, who works as a writer for Sony’s Santa Monica Studio – the developer studio behind God of War. Pearce was also involved in the latest installment “God of War: Ragnarök” as a member of the writing team.
What exactly does the player say? The Twitter user demands: “Alanah Pearce should be fired for promoting Xbox games on a public platform like this.”
Furthermore, the user added that Pearce’s behavior is “extremely unprofessional” and demonstrates “a lack of loyalty and seriousness towards her employer PlayStation.”
In addition, he tagged the Twitter accounts of Herman Hulst (Head of PlayStation Studios) and Cory Barlog (Creative Director of Santa Monica Studio).
The post itself did not really receive support but still garnered a lot of attention and was shown over 70,000 times on Twitter. In the comments, the user is primarily contradicted by other users.
A user joked in the comments: “I propose that all employees of Coca-Cola Company who drink water should be fired. That is extremely unprofessional and shows a lack of loyalty and seriousness towards the brand.”

How did Pearce react to the demand? Alanah Pearce addressed the Twitter user’s post in a video on YouTube and explained that she loves her job at Santa Monica Studio. However, she has friends who work at Bethesda, Xbox, or Nintendo. That is also completely normal.
Pearce adds that there is no “console war” within the gaming industry and some of her coworkers have already worked for Xbox studios.
So when a big game comes out that everyone is excited about, according to Pearce, the entire gaming industry is also excited. Everyone looks forward to the next big step that game development is taking, and they are happy for their friends who work at another studio because they have created something cool.
