A gamer and his wife held an open house and he had to hide his most valuable things beforehand. However, he had a different definition of “valuable” than his wife.

Why do valuables need to be hidden? Reddit user CallMe_Dig_Baddy held an “Open House” with his wife. An Open House is a public house viewing where interested parties can look at the “open” house. It is mainly common in the USA; such procedures occur rather rarely here in Germany.
At such an event, it’s important to securely store one’s most valuable items – like important documents, passports, or the like – if not even take them out of the house to hide them elsewhere. Strangers come into the house all day, and it can happen that someone inadvertently takes something with them.
“Not a bad idea”
What does the gamer take? CallMe_Dig_Baddy shared a photo on Reddit of the valuable things he had stored in his car after his wife asked him to. Apparently, they both had different interpretations of the term “valuable,” as the wife meant personal and important documents, while the Reddit user had associated it with his consoles.
So he hid his PS5 and Nintendo Switch in his car, next to two laptops, but not passports or anything like that.
How does the community react: They celebrate the photo with over 61,000 upvotes (!) and more than 1,000 comments (!). The comments under the post show that many gamers can understand the man:
- NanoChainedChromium can relate to the situation (on Reddit): “Honestly, the risk of someone quickly stealing a Switch is much greater than the risk of someone stealing passports or any documents.”
- theplasmasnake understands it too, but would also hide the personal documents (on Reddit): “Honestly, it’s not a bad idea to hide the stuff too … but yeah, get your personal documents too, lol.”
- Fudge89 can share a similar story (on Reddit): “Back in college, the apartment next to mine burned down, and all I could take with me while evacuating my building was my PS3 and my laptop.”
As a gamer, priorities seem to lie elsewhere. No wonder, because consoles are expensive and you don’t want to lose them. Similar happened to a PS5 player who saved only one thing from his burning house: House of a PS5 player burns down, who saves only the one thing that is important to him
