PS5 release – these streaming apps are available at launch
The PlayStation 5 is not only for gamers, but also a multimedia platform: There are plenty of fans who want to watch movies and series through their current PlayStation 4 and soon stream via their PlayStation 5.
Several important streaming and entertainment apps are already supported by the PlayStation 5 at launch. The following services can be used directly through your console:
- Apple TV
- Disney+
- Netflix
- Spotify
- Twitch
- YouTube
This is how you can access the services: Sony demonstrated during the presentation of the PS5 user interface how you can directly access your media. You can find your movies and music directly on the home screen next to the games.
However, be aware that you need an internet connection and a PlayStation Network account to access the streaming services. With the official PS5 remote control, you can also directly operate four services. This also works with the PS5 DualSense controller. Meanwhile, we also know which games support the new features of the DualSense controller.
