The PS4 received update 5.53-01 today, April 24, 2018. This is an update of nearly 70 MB. What exact improvements the update brings is still unclear.

It is apparently a hotfix for the recently released PS4 firmware 5.53.
The update is installed without a restart of the console. Since no change log was released, it is still unclear what specific improvements the update brings for the PS4.
However, it can be assumed that version 5.33-01 fixes minor issues from the last firmware update 5.53. Since the update also does not require a restart of the console, no major changes will likely be made.
With the previously released firmware update 5.53, only the stability and performance of the PS4 were adjusted. Therefore, it is likely just an update of an update.
However, it is unusual that the update was released with a “-01” suffix in the version number. Otherwise, Sony’s firmware updates are always continuously numbered.
Update:
As some users report, new settings have been added in the area of privacy. It now seems possible to set whether it should be visible to other players what music you are currently listening to on Spotify.
Furthermore, the most recently played songs on Spotify should now be displayed in the profile, provided Spotify is linked to your console and you have selected the corresponding setting.
