Sony has introduced improvements for the PlayStation 4 with the update 9.00. However, many users on reddit complain about bugs that can lead to the console crashing.
With the update 9.00, Sony provides the last-gen console PS4 with new features. The interaction with the PS5 should be better, and you can view your trophies collected on the PS5 while on the PS4.
However, there are now some comments on reddit complaining about issues with the update. The problems range from difficulties downloading it to a broken console that won’t start anymore.
Why is the update even needed? Those who do not update their console will not be able to access Sony’s online services and the PlayStation Network (PSN). This includes the ability to play online as well as access to the PlayStation Store.

According to reddit, however, the most common issue is the error that prevents users from installing the update.
