After Sony recently revealed the new free PS Plus games that PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to in October 2020, both free games are now available for download in the PS Store. This time there is an action role-playing game and an action-packed racing spectacle for PlayStation 4.

These are the new PS Plus games in October 2020: Do you have a PlayStation Plus subscription? Then you can soon look forward to these 2 new free games:
- Need for Speed Payback – an arcade-style racing game with a lot of tuning and an open world
- Vampyr – an action role-playing game with an apocalyptic vampire setting at the beginning of the 20th century
When will the new monthly games be available for free download in the PS Store? As a PS Plus member, you can download these two new PS Plus games now (from October 6) at no additional cost from the PS Store.
Need for Speed Payback
What is Need for Speed Payback? Need for Speed Payback is an arcade racer focused on the tuning scene. Furthermore, Payback represents the 23rd installment in the popular “Need for Speed” series. The game was released on November 10, 2017.
In Payback, you are thrown into the underworld of the fictional open-world city Fortune Valley. After your crew was torn apart by betrayal, you have to reunite and bring down a ruthless cartel that controls everything in the city from money to crime to the police and justice.
The gameplay is simply explained: it’s all about racing and cool cars that you can upgrade with various visual tuning parts. With these vehicles, you participate in different races to advance the story and earn or buy more upgrades. You can also wreak havoc in Fortune Valley with friends in multiplayer mode.
You should check out Need for Speed Payback if you generally enjoy fun arcade racing, tuning, and fast racing action in the style of The Fast and the Furious.
Also, if you are a fan of the “Need for Speed” series and enjoyed the immediate predecessors or the successor NFS Heat, NFS Payback will likely keep you glued to the screen for some time.

Vampyr
What is Vampyr? Vampyr is a dark action role-playing game from Dontnod Entertainment, released in 2018.
The game lets you step into the shoes of Jonathan Reid – a London doctor in 1918 who has recently transformed into a vampire and now has to learn to live with his new body and the consequences of his transformation. And that’s anything but easy.
On one hand, you must fight against the monster inside you as a doctor and try to find a cure for the plague that has already plagued many residents of London. On the other hand, as a bloodsucker, you are now condemned to feed on the blood of those you have sworn to save.
Throughout the exciting story with several surprising twists, you have to keep pesky vampire hunters off your back, fight in challenging duels against the undead, as well as various other supernatural creatures while utilizing your unholy powers. Additionally, you will develop your character, unlock new abilities, or upgrade your weapons.
You should check out Vampyr if you generally like ARPGs. Because Vampyr is a truly exciting and solid representative of the genre.
If your heart beats for vampires, striking characters with interesting conflicts and relationships, an apocalyptic setting, exciting and well-crafted story, and successful RPG mechanics, then you can do no wrong with Vampyr – especially for free.
