PS Plus June 2020: The new free PS4 games are now available

Starting now, the entire PS Plus lineup for June 2020 is finally available for download in the PS Store. As free monthly PS Plus games for PS4, all PS Plus subscribers get 2 high-profile AAA shooters this time. Especially fans of Star Wars and the “Call of Duty” series will be pleased.

These are the new monthly free games from PS Plus in June 2020: In June, the following 2 free PS Plus games for PlayStation 4 await all PS Plus members:

Call of Duty: WW II
Star Wars Battlefront II

Both titles had already been anticipated or hinted at.

PlayStation itself officially announced CoD: WW II as one of the new monthly free games ahead of time on May 25. Additionally, a seemingly official video leaked, showing Star Wars Battlefront II as the second free game alongside CoD. And as it turned out, this leak was correct.

Contrary to some speculation, CoD was not a bonus title announced early, and there will only be these two games in June.

When can you grab the new PS Plus games in the PlayStation Store? This time it works a bit differently. Call of Duty: WW II was not only announced early – the game has been available for download in the PS Store for all members since May 26. So you can grab it already.

But now, Star Wars Battlefront II is finally available as a free download for all PS Plus subscribers. Both games will be available until July 7 as part of PS Plus – even though CoD started earlier.

What’s in Call of Duty: WW II? Call of Duty: WW II is a first-person shooter from Sledgehammer Games and was released in 2017.

The shooter features a single-player campaign, but the focus of the series clearly lies on the fast-paced multiplayer part. However, fans of the popular Zombie mode among many players will also find enjoyment in WW II.

The game tells the fictional story of a US soldier in World War II, who lands in Normandy on D-Day in 1944 and fights through iconic locations on the Western front with his team all the way to Germany.

In multiplayer, you can expect fast-paced, action-packed yet grounded battles in the traditional style of the CoD series. There, you can compete in various formats and modes against others.

Who’s it worth for Call of Duty: WW II? Basically, for all fans of the Call of Duty series who have missed this installment so far, and for players who generally enjoy fast, solid shooter combat in first-person perspective.

CoD WW II offers numerous multiplayer modes and a variety of maps for every taste. Whether you like team deathmatches, objective-based variants, or cooperative zombie hunting – there’s something for every multiplayer fan.

Star Wars Battlefront II

What’s in Star Wars Battlefront II? SWBF II is a shooter from EA DICE, played in third or first person and set in the official Star Wars universe. Battlefront II was released in 2017.

The game features an extensive multiplayer with various modes for up to 40 players. There, you can engage in spectacular sci-fi battles on numerous iconic locations of the Star Wars saga, either on foot or as a space pilot.

A single-player campaign is also included, offering a cohesive story that even belongs to the official Star Wars canon. In it, you play as the commander of an imperial special unit but also occasionally take on the roles of Star Wars icons such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, or Princess Leia.

Who’s it worth for Star Wars Battlefront II? In short: If you enjoy shooter action and your heart beats for Star Wars, you can’t go wrong with Battlefront II.

You get an authentic backdrop in great visuals, an excellent soundtrack, and a polished gaming experience with well-staged battles. Just recently, SWBF II received its latest update, which has now fulfilled the developers’ vision.

The microtransactions (loot boxes), which once caused so much trouble and frustration and represented the main criticism for many, have been completely overhauled and are now regarded as fair by most players.
