Recently, Sony announced the new monthly PS Plus Games that all PS Plus subscribers can look forward to in June 2019. These free PS4 games are now available for you to download.
Things to keep in mind about the free PS Plus games: Since March 2019, the monthly game offerings from PS Plus no longer include PS3 and PS Vita games. Since then, subscribers only receive PS4 titles.
For PlayStation 4, you can expect the following new PS Plus Games in June:
- Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
- and Sonic Mania
These PS4 titles will be available for all PS Plus members for free download starting June 4.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (PS4)
What is Borderlands: The Handsome Collection? It is essentially a large Borderlands bundle. This collection includes Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and all previously released DLCs for both titles, enhanced for Sony’s current console generation.
In the games, the tradition is about the hunt for better loot. On the fictional planet Pandora and its moon, you gather tons of weapons in true Diablo style, play quirky classes, and improve your character with a skill and level system. You take down numerous villains and continuously seek better equipment.
Known for its comic-style graphics in a cell-shading look, the Borderlands series is played from a first-person perspective. Throughout the story and quests, you experience many funny stories with all sorts of quirky personalities, memorable villains, and diverse locations – all complemented by wonderfully quirky humor.

Who is Borderlands: The Handsome Collection suitable for? For anyone who generally enjoys shooters or games like Diablo and who for inexplicable reasons has missed out on Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel. Friends of casual co-op fun should also be pleased here.
Beginners can look forward to an extensive package and get familiar with the backstory and gameplay of the series in advance in Borderlands 3. Veterans and returnees get the chance to enjoy the games on current hardware generation in a fresh shine.

Sonic Mania (PS4)
What is Sonic Mania? Sonic Mania is a classic side-scrolling platformer from Sega, produced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved Sonic franchise. In this homage to the quirky blue hedgehog, you must showcase your jump & run skills and dexterity.
The game revolves around Sonic and his two companions Tails and Knuckles, who want to take down the villain Dr. Eggman and his robot henchmen.
You jump, run, swim, climb, and fly with one of the three characters in a side-scrolling 2D view and retro graphics through numerous zones, including many redesigned fan favorites from previous series installments.
Each zone is divided into two acts. Players must navigate past various enemies and overcome obstacles to reach the end of a level. This is followed by a boss fight against Dr. Eggman or one of his robot minions.
A time attack mode with an online leaderboard and a split-screen mode where you compete with your friends for the fastest run rounds out this cool nostalgia experience.
Who is Sonic Mania suitable for? Anyone who enjoys the classic Sonic games and generally has a fondness for jump & run and old-school side-scrollers. Sonic Mania offers numerous nostalgic elements and cleverly mixes them with new ideas.
If you are into this genre and value varied levels, a cool soundtrack, and good gameplay flow, you can’t go wrong with Sonic Mania. Co-op fans should also have fun here.
