Sony recently announced the new free games that PlayStation Plus members will receive in April 2021. As always, there are 2 games for PS4 and one exclusive PS5 game. These are now available for download for subscribers in the PlayStation Store.
Here are the PS Plus games for April 2021: Owners of an active PS Plus subscription can look forward to 3 fresh free titles this April, and this month zombies are running rampant on PlayStation. Depending on whether you own a PS4 or a PlayStation 5, you will receive:
- Days Gone (PS4) – A third-person action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world
- Zombie Army 4: Dead War (PS4) – A third-person shooter where you fight against hordes of Nazi zombies
- Oddworld: Soulstorm (PS5) – A platformer game where you solve puzzles and must save your friends
You can easily play the PS4 titles on your PS5 thanks to the backward compatibility feature without any issues.
When does the free download in the PS Store start? You can download the new PS Plus games starting now (April 6) in the PlayStation Store. The games are already available in the console store, but they are still waiting to be available in the web store.
Days Gone (PS4)
What is Days Gone? In this action-adventure game with survival horror elements, you are placed in a post-apocalyptic world where human civilization has collapsed. The culprit is a virus that transforms people into wild aggressive monsters known as “Freakers.”
You take on the role of Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter trying to survive in this brutal world alongside his friend Boozer. In search of his missing wife, Deacon must fight through hordes of enemies and uncover the mystery behind the virus and the Freakers.
In the open world, you roam the land, collect items that help you survive, and complete tasks. You can approach these tasks however you see fit. Whether sneaking or using melee or ranged weapons, the choice is yours. There’s also a crafting system that allows you to improve your gear.
You should check out Days Gone if you enjoy a dark and hopeless setting set in the post-apocalypse. The Freakers provide a good scare factor and come in such large hordes that players may feel helpless.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War (PS4)
What is Zombie Army 4: Dead War? This third-person shooter takes place in 1946 in an alternate reality. World War II continues to rage mercilessly, but instead of fighting soldiers, members of the global resistance fight against a horde of zombies from the Third Reich.
You can choose between four different characters from the resistance that you will control in the game. They have their own backstories and abilities. The game is divided into chapters and features a leveling system that unlocks new perks. It can also be played cooperatively with up to 4 players.
In your fight against Hitler and his zombies, the game takes you through various locations in Europe, including Venice, Sardinia, Croatia, and even Rome.
You should check out Zombie Army 4: Dead War if you want to slice zombies into pieces with your friends. The game can be played in both campaign and horde mode cooperatively, providing more than enough zombies to satisfy.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War was one of the most exciting co-op games released in 2020.
Oddworld: Soulstorm (PS5)
What is Oddworld: Soulstorm? The second installment of the Oddworld game series once again puts you in the role of the Mudokon Abe. He was initially a floor cleaner in a RuptureFarms meat factory but accidentally became a reluctant hero.
In Soulstorm, his story continues as he must rescue over 1,000 other Mudokons by guiding them through a 2.9D world, solving puzzles, collecting resources, and avoiding or eliminating dangers. He is aided by the mystical ability to possess his enemies and a new crafting system.
Oddworld: Soulstorm is a brand-new game that will be released on April 6 and will be available immediately as a free PS5 game for PS Plus members.
