The new month of September is just around the corner. As usual, there are “free” games for PS5 and PS4 that you receive with a subscription, along with plenty of rumors about what they could be. MeinMMO shows you the schedule and which games could be included in PS Plus in September 2022.
What does the schedule look like? Since June, there has been the new PS Plus, but subscribers continue to receive their free games. But first, here are the dates that are important for September:
- PS Plus: Games available from Tuesday, the 06. September
- Typically around 12:00 PM
- Possible announcement: Wednesday, the 31. August
- Game reveals often around 5:30 PM

Which games could come in August? Just before the official announcement, there are again plenty of rumors about which games could be free for PS Plus Essential. We took a look at which games could be free for Essential subscribers in September. However, keep in mind that these are just rumors that Sony has not officially confirmed.
CoD: Modern Warfare 2019
Activision is releasing the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II together with developer Infinity Ward in October 2022. As a free game, this would lead to a surge and more players. In the end, people who enjoy the 2019 title will also buy the new game in October.
Biomutant
Biomutant is an action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world without humans. You fight your way through an open world with plenty of mutated animals using melee and ranged weapons.
The game has already been released for PC and PS4, and the next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X is now set to release on September 6, 2022. This is also the day when the new games for PS Plus in September 2022 will be unlocked.
Temtem
Temtem is an MMO where you collect, breed, and battle hundreds of creatures like in Pokémon. The game has been in Early Access on Steam and PS4 for some time now. After two years of development, it’s finally time.
On September 6, the official release of Temtem will take place, where the game will also be released for Nintendo Switch. Here, the release coincides with the launch of PS Plus in September 2022.
Circus Electrique
Circus Electrique is a tactical RPG of a different kind. Here, you take control of a colorful circus troupe in Victorian Steampunk London and must find out why the inhabitants have suddenly turned into bloodthirsty murderers. In doing so, you fight in turn-based combat against various characters.
The RPG will also be released on September 6, 2022, making it a suitable candidate for PS Plus in September 2022.
The Crew 2
The Crew 2 is an open-world racing game where you can switch between various vehicles and aircraft. Ubisoft regularly releases new content for the racing game. On July 6, 2022, The Crew 2 received a “60 FPS update” for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
The racing game from Ubisoft is also a hot candidate for PS Plus in September 2022. A free version would also further increase the player counts of the online game.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
The game Disney Dreamlight Valley resembles the popular Animal Crossing from the Switch but with a Disney license. In the game, you are supposed to build your neighborhood together with heroes and villains from well-known Disney and Pixar movies.
The online magazine hitc.com points out that you cannot currently preorder the game in the PS Store, unlike on Steam. Here, some speculate that the game could be free for PS Plus subscribers.
What does PS Plus bring? The subscription is important if you want to use multiplayer on your PlayStation. Because very few games enable the online mode without PS Plus.
Additionally, you regularly receive cosmetics or in-game currencies from various games as gifts and have an extra discount on some games. Make sure to check the PS Store regularly and examine the PS Plus section so you don’t miss bonuses for games you find interesting.
Furthermore, save files can be moved to the PS Cloud, and there are the monthly games in the subscription. However, you can only use them if you are currently a member of PS Plus.
