It’s been almost a year since Sony changed the PS Plus subscription model. In addition to the classic Essential subscription with monthly free
games, there are also the Extra and Premium models. We have summarized the 5 best games for PS Plus Extra.
What is PS Plus Extra? In 2022, Sony changed the PS Plus subscription model. PS Plus Essential is what you already knew, and you get free games every month. PS Plus Extra is similar to Gamepass and is a subscription service where you can play various games on the console.

5. Celeste
Developer: Matt Makes Games Inc | Genre: Jump & Run | Meta-Score: 91 (PS4)
What kind of game is Celeste? Actually, Celeste is tied with Shadow of the Colossus in terms of score, but I wanted to give the indie title the front row. Celeste is a 2D jump & run with beautiful pixel graphics. You play as Madeline, who wants to climb a mountain.
In classic genre fashion, you jump through levels that are all quite challenging and reminiscent of Super Meat Boy. However, the game is never frustrating because the controls are simple yet precise, so you never feel like you are losing control. If you want even more challenge, there are optional B-side chapters.
Unusual for the genre is the story in Celeste. It also addresses difficult topics such as depression and feelings of inadequacy. The tone is accompanied by a very good soundtrack.
The ending, without wanting to spoil, is a positive experience.
4. DEMON’S SOULS
Developer: JapanStudios, Bluepoint Games | Genre: Action RPG | Meta-Score: 92 (PS5)
What kind of game is Demon’s Souls? The original game on the PS3 is the progenitor of the soulslike genre. In 2020, the remake of Demon’s Souls was released on the PS5 and remains one of the prettiest next-gen games to this day.
In the spirit of Old but Gold
, Bluepoint Games only optimized the gameplay, but did not change it. Otherwise, it is a classic soulslike game. Much fighting and consequently much dying. There is no open world like in Elden Ring, but a hub world that brings you to smaller open areas.
Demon’s Souls is not for beginners and is one of the more brutal soulslikes. Sure, there are builds that are very strong, but summoning spirits like in Elden Ring is not available. However, if you have problems, you can summon other players, as is typical for the series.
