Sony adds new games to the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog in February, and with Horizon Forbidden West, there’s a real blockbuster among them.
What is PS Plus Extra/Premium? With PS Plus, PlayStation players have been able to access online services for various games and receive a few games for their library each month for several years, but the PS Plus lineup has been expanded to include two versions:
- The classic PS Plus is now called PS Plus Essential
- Then there’s PS Plus Extra – a kind of Game Pass with a selection of games for PS4 and PS5
- as well as PS Plus Premium, the “All in One” subscription.
With PS Plus Premium, additional games are added. Furthermore, the subscription includes a streaming offer for PlayStation classics. A monthly subscription for PS Plus Extra costs €13.99, and a Premium subscription is priced at €16.99.
Sony regularly adds new content to the game catalog. A post on the PlayStation Blog reveals that one of the biggest PlayStation exclusives will be added to the subscription service in February 2023.
Aloy adds to the PS Plus Extra game catalog
Which games will be added to the subscription in February? As a PlayStation Blog post reveals, both PS Plus Extra and Premium will add new games on February 21, 2023.
Included is Horizon Forbidden West, released in February 2022, which achieved a strong 88 metascore on metacritic and was likely the biggest PlayStation exclusive of 2022 alongside God of War Ragnarök.
It is the sequel to the popular Horizon Zero Dawn and continues the story of the protagonist Aloy.
In addition to Horizon Forbidden West, The Quarry, the loot shooter Outriders, and Borderlands 3 will also be added to the PS Plus selection.

If the Premium or Extra subscription is too expensive for you, but you are a customer of PS Plus Essentials, you could already enjoy Evil Dead The Game, Mafia Definitive Edition, and OlliOlliWorld in February. However, with PS Plus Essential, you cannot experience Aloy’s journey.
