Sony has introduced the first free PS Plus game for PS4 and PS5 at the State of Play. Subscribers will receive an action game.
What it’s about: Sony has presented the first free game for PS4 and PS5 in August on the official PlayStation Blog (via blog.playstation.com). It is the action brawler Hunter’s Arena Legend.
This is a game that aims to combine PvE content and PvP battles. First, you search the map for loot and fight monsters to improve or collect rare items. After that, you dive into PvP battles and hope to be the last player standing in the end.
MeinMMO introduces you in this article to what Hunter’s Arena Legends is and for whom the game is worth it. Here is also the trailer for the game:
Tip for subscribers: If you currently have a PlayStation Plus subscription, check out the current offer for PlayStation Plus in July. In addition to a good wrestling game, a strong action-adventure is also awaiting you for the PS5:
Hunter’s Arena Legends is meant to be a game for people who have no time
What kind of game is this? 30 players fight in teams of three in this mix of battle royale, MOBA, and ARPG for which player will ultimately take home the victory. The game has been in development since 2019 and there was already a first alpha.
The game relied on teams of three in the alpha. Players were grouped into teams of 3 players each. They explored a vast map that shrank over time. The official game is supposed to feature various game modes, including:
- Solo mode
- Duo and trio mode
- Tag match. Here you choose two hunters of your choice and must fight until you or your opponent are defeated.
This is reminiscent of well-known battle royale games, where the map also shrinks and ultimately the player or team wins that is the last still alive.
What is special about the game? Hunter’s Arena Legends aims to be a game for people who have no time for large games. The developer boldly promises that you can experience “all the content you love in MMORPGs within 30 minutes”.
The game is supposed to offer all essential content that one would expect from an MMORPG with PvE battles, dungeons, raids, and a leveling system.
Many MMORPG veterans complain that they would like to play MMORPGs, but they no longer have the time for them. So the developers’ idea could hit the nerve of the times.
