The work on the upcoming science fiction MMO Project Genom is progressing well. The team provides a recap of what has happened to the game in 2016 and a glimpse into 2017.
The game world of the MMO will expand to about ten times its size. It is set to grow to 100 km². A first step towards this is the new Harbinger Zone, which offers new shops and interesting areas. But this is just the beginning.
The new large game world is expected to offer a variety of places to explore. Especially with fast means of transportation finding their way into the MMO, the world shouldn’t be too small, which is why it is being expanded now. Additionally, the new zones will provide content for every player. Newcomers will no longer have to hang out with veterans, but will seek their own quests.
Revisions and improvements for a well-rounded game
The developers have also started to revise all old zones to deliver a visually consistent experience. The entire game world should also impress you graphically. In addition, plenty of new quests await players, which they will receive from the NPCs.
The NPCs have also been visually improved due to a new engine update. They now look more natural. Moreover, there will be new maps to help you navigate the large world, allowing players to quickly find important NPCs.
Better quests and a more stable network code
The interface has also been redesigned in the past months to make it easier to use, and the quests offer you more variety and are more exciting. Currently, work is still being done on a new network code that should make the interaction between players more stable.
So, 2017 will be a very exciting year for fans of the science fiction MMORPG Project Genom!
