Since Multiversus was released, a few favorites among the characters have emerged. However, the new EVO 2022 champions in the game used a completely different team – and successfully so.
Which characters are we talking about? In the current beta of Multiversus, there is actually a clear king among the characters: The clever rabbit Bugs Bunny is incredibly strong, dominating the character selection of top players in the rankings. There’s even a nerf on the horizon.
And the Scooby-Doo lady “Velma” has also become popular. This was apparently noticed during the big Multiversus tournament at EVO 2022: There, 6 of the 8 top teams played with Velma, three of them used Bugs Bunny (via PC Gamer).
But this combo ultimately did not prevail.

This is how the final ended: Another pro duo should ultimately take the victory. The players “Nakat” and “VoiD” are usually known as pros in the obvious Multiversus prototype “Smash Bros.” but also demonstrated their skills in Multiversus.
The special thing: They announced in an interview before the match that they not only wanted to win but also to break the Bugs Bunny-Velma meta.
And for that, they used a completely different combination: Tom & Jerry and Wonder Woman.

With Tom, Jerry, and Wonder Woman, Nakat and VoiD eventually prevailed and celebrated their victory: The winning team received $10,000 (approx. €9,824), which they could split 50:50 among themselves.
Still in the interview, they explained how happy they were to have won with the unusual combo – and not with Bugs Bunny or Velma. It wasn’t even close: the team won 6:0.
By using Tom & Jerry and Wonder Woman, the two utilized two characters that, while in the A-tier of the Multiversus tier list, are not considered overpowered. Are you still looking for the right character for you? Here is the tier list for Multiversus.
