The two CoD professionals Pacman and Enable went to the trouble of comparing various CoD games in a tier list. The focus was mainly on the relevance of the games in competitive multiplayer. Ironically, Modern Warfare 2019 didn’t fare well at all.
Who voted? The two former CoD pro gamers Ian “Enable” Wyatt and Jonathan “Pacman” Tucker debated in the show Reverse Sweep which CoD game in the series was the best in competitive multiplayer. To this end, the two experts created a tier list, ranging from top-level S to tier E. In the end, only one game from the series made it into the S and E tiers respectively.
Since Enable and Pacman both have a lot of experience in the competitive CoD scene, their ranking is also influenced by the relevance of the respective CoD games in this field.
Black Ops 2 tops the ranking
What does the list look like? The following tier list was created by Pacman and Enable:
| S-Tier | Black Ops 2 | ||
| A-Tier | WWII | ||
| B-Tier | Ghosts | Advanced Warfare | Black Ops 3 |
| C-Tier | Infinite Warfare | Black Ops 4 | Cold War |
| D-Tier | |||
| E-Tier | Modern Warfare (2019) |
What speaks for the S-Tier? The two professionals agreed on the S-Tier game. The old Black Ops 2 would be the best game from a competitive perspective. Enable stated:
I didn’t participate in the competitions in Black Ops 2, but this is – in my opinion – the Call of Duty that brought CoD onto the competitive “map”… it is, from a competitive standpoint, probably still the best competitive game to this day.
Why don’t they like Modern Warfare? In last place, the only game was the Modern Warfare from 2019. Both seemed to equally disdain this game, and they tried to outdo each other with negative ratings: “That’s E minus a quadrillion!” or “That’s so bad, it’s not even on the list!”
Pacman said:
Terrible gameplay, throw a smoke grenade, run around, get lost, hide […] if Warzone hadn’t been involved, we should have burned that thing and everything around it on the bonfire!
The game was simply not fun, neither for players nor for spectators.
What about the rest? There’s a lot of debate about the other games. For example, Ghosts lands in the D-Tier after some back and forth but then gets promoted to B. Or the discussion about whether the jetpacks in Advanced Warfare were terrible or great.
The Warzone, which both professionals love despite the associated Modern Warfare, has recently brought a lot of joy again. A few brawling campers had a lot of fun.
