In the eChampions League for EA FC 25, the German professional Levy Finn “levyfinn” Rieck from RB Leipzig eSports has been eliminated. Thus, he no longer has the chance for the prize money of 66,000 euros. The way it happened was extremely unfortunate, as his player should have only had to complete the simplest task in football.
How did the professional lose 66,000 euros? Last weekend (May 16 to May 18), the league phase and subsequently the knockout phase of the eChampions League in EA FC 25 took place. Over 3 days, the best 8 players were determined, who will compete on May 28 for the title of the best player in Europe and for a prize pool of more than 66,000 euros for the winner.
In the league phase, levyfinn remained unbeaten, but he missed a place in the top 8 and thus also the direct entry into the round of 16. He only needed one more goal to secure a favorable position and the chance to win the eChampions League.
Levyfinn had two huge opportunities to reach the top 8. Especially with one particular situation, he must have struggled a lot, as 99.9% of the time, such an opportunity guarantees a secure goal.
Double aluminum misfortune and defenders prevent top 8
levyfinn was thwarted by this double misfortune: In the second match of the season phase, levyfinn faced namesake Levi de Weerd. In a thrilling match, the score in the final phase was 3:3. In the 87th minute, the German eSports player had a huge chance for 4:3 after he had outplayed the entire opposing defense along with the goalkeeper.
However, instead of securing the certain goal and likely victory, his 94-rated “Hero card” from Lars Ricken hit the right post from the shooter’s perspective. From there, to make matters worse, the ball rolled on the goal line to the left post and bounced back out of the goal.

His defenders also let him down: In the match against the English professional RvPLegend10, he then had a lot of bad luck on the other side of the field. His opponent scored the equalizer to 6:6 with the last attack of the match in the 90th minute.
Particularly bitter: Levy was actually in the shooting lane with 2 defenders. However, the decisive pass somehow found its way to the receiver, who simply needed to tap the ball in. The defenders acted very unfortunately in this situation.
Maybe he also lost his first knockout match because of these late setbacks and therefore cannot participate in the finals in Munich (May 28, 2025). As a result, he also misses the opportunity for the prize money.
