Due to a bug, potatoes disappeared from an entire game area of Guild Wars 2. This led to panic buying in the MMORPG.
In real life, you can make delicious things from potatoes: potato gratin, fries, vodka… Potatoes also play an important role in Guild Wars 2 – even more so after they suddenly vanished from the game world. But what happened?

And suddenly there were hardly any potatoes
The disappearance of the potatoes: In Guild Wars 2, players use potatoes to craft delicious dishes. These include potato soup and, of course, fries. But suddenly, the potatoes disappeared from one of the starting areas of the MMORPG. What had happened?
Panic buying and moon prices: Players of the MMO feared that ArenaNet would completely remove potatoes from the game, causing them to rush to the remaining supplies. Many even hoped for a lucrative business and offered the potatoes at horrendous prices.
After all, there was a concern that these food items might not be available anymore. Ultimately, 1,000 potatoes are also needed to upgrade the “Critical Harvesting Guild Enchantment.” That’s quite a lot. And when there are hardly any potatoes left, it becomes even harder to obtain this upgrade.
It was all just a bug: But ArenaNet quickly clarified the situation. A bug during a revision of the potato-less game area caused the nightshade plants to be absent. Within two days, a bug fix was deployed, and potatoes are now regularly available again. However, this also burst the dreams of some who aspired to be potato barons.
Now everyone else can start harvesting diligently and make delicious dishes.
