The end times are here – at least in the survival MMO The Skies, which is now available on Steam through Early Access.
Since it is still an early access version, not all features are implemented and there may still be issues. However, if you want to take a look into the dark world and take your first steps, you can do so starting now.
A new MMORPG promises a growing game world
The Skies places you in a game world that is currently 16 km² large. This is supposed to expand to 200 km² over time. In this world, you try to survive. You create a character that you can design completely according to your ideas, making it as unique as possible. How you live your life in the end times is up to you. Because you improve your hero through skills.
You will also follow quests, which are not supposed to be linear, as is evident even in the dialogues. Depending on how you behave and approach quests, these can change and lead to different objectives. This, in turn, affects the progression of your story and further missions. You should feel like you are not following a linear prescribed story that every other player experiences the same way; you can influence your story and how it develops.
You influence developments in the game
Your actions also impact the player-driven economy. Wars can lead to shortages of certain products, for example.
Wars play a bigger role in general. Because if you join with others into clans, you can declare war on other clans. But PvP duels and smaller battles are also possible. You do not only engage in these battles on foot in The Skies; you also build vehicles, as seen in the Mad Max movies, and engage in hot combat with these in the MMORPG.
