Popular action RPG on Steam wants to attract fans with new content but chooses the worst timing

With the action RPG Last Epoch, developer Eleventh Hour Games is now steering towards the release of version 1.0. Recently, the action hit was given a multiplayer mode on Steam, allowing fans to dive into shared adventures. New content is also expected soon. What kind of game is it? It is the action RPG Last Epoch by Eleventh Hour Games, which is currently still in early access. It is inspired by well-known titles like the Diablo series or Path of Exile. However, Last Epoch sees itself more as a hybrid between the two titles.

For example, there is a skill system that is inspired by Path of Exile, but takes its own path and is less complicated. On the other hand, it offers more customization options than Diablo 3 did back in the day.

New content for Last Epoch is planned for late May on Steam

Why is the timing bad? The new content will be introduced under the title “Rising Flames” with patch 0.9.1. This will happen on May 25, 2023 – just before the release of Diablo 4. This raises the question of whether the timing is well chosen.

Indeed, the colleagues from mmorpg.org.pl speculate that the content of “Rising Flames” was moved forward by four weeks precisely because of the upcoming release of Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 is officially scheduled for release on June 6, 2023, with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions offering a four-day early access. Since many have already pre-ordered the original genre primus, fans of action RPGs now effectively have 6 days for the content of “Rising Flames”.
