MeinMMO asked you how well informed you are about the new shooter DOOM Eternal. Here are the results.
This was the topic of the survey: DOOM Eternal will be the first major shooter of 2020 – yet many people seem to be unaware of it.
About two weeks ago, on February 21, we asked you if you are aware of DOOM Eternal. Are you fully informed or do you not care about DOOM at all? To warm up, here’s the trailer again:
These are the results: As of the time of evaluation, 352 readers participated in the survey. Everyone could submit an answer and the results show a strong positive trend:
- “I know every little info about the new part!” – 102 votes
- “I follow the game and am excited, but I’m not a ‘diehard’ fan.” – 144 votes
- “I have never played Doom and know little about it. I would like more information on MeinMMO.” – 15 votes
- “I’m hearing about DOOM Eternal for the first time and haven’t formed an opinion yet.” – 13 votes
- “I’m waiting until the game is released. Only then do I want to inform myself.” – 28 votes
- “I’m a shooter fan, but I have no interest in DOOM Eternal.” – 41 votes
- “I don’t care about shooters.” – 9 votes
Almost half of the participants have chosen the option indicating that they are excited about the game, and almost another third devours every new info as soon as it is available.
The next largest group is at least interested in DOOM Eternal, but is not as informed as the largest percentage of participants.
Only a total of 50 readers have no interest in DOOM Eternal at all.
Most want to buy DOOM as soon as possible
These are your comments: In the comments to the survey, most of you have already expressed that you will purchase DOOM Eternal as soon as it becomes available or want to grab it during a sale.
Will buy it right after my vacation! That’s as certain as “Amen” in church.

I’m really looking forward to the game.
Our reader Sanix apparently prefers to forgo DOOM Eternal – for the sake of nostalgia: “I found Doom 2 incredibly awesome. It was a real HORROR for me when I was little. Everything was dark, tight corridors, and sounds and jump scares everywhere. However, I lost interest in Doom afterwards, it seemed graphically lagging behind compared to the trailers of the time and not the horror shooter that I remember with fondness.”
King Bohan tricked a bit in the survey – but at least he admitted it: “So I’ve actually played all DOOM parts, but I still clicked on ‘never played’. But only because of the addition that I want to read more about it on MeinMMO. And yes, the new DOOM part will be bought.”
DOOM Eternal will be harder than you think
What you should consider: Despite your hype for DOOM Eternal, you should keep in mind that the new part differs from its predecessors. It will be much harder, for example – I even died during the testing in the first level of DOOM Eternal.
This is not only because the Doomslayer starts off more or less as a sausage, but also because of the new AI. Enemies are not just “dumber” when you play on easier difficulties. They behave the same way. Only dealt and received damage will change.
Furthermore, the new DOOM will also receive a number of new features after the release, like an MMO. One of them will be the invasion mode.
If you decide to use this mode, players from your campaign session can join as demons and make your life hell. The demons have the same abilities as in the Battle Mode.
