Hardly any streamer is as closely associated with Twitch as the 27-year-old Imane “Pokimane” Anys. In a mysterious post, she now seems to announce her farewell from the streaming platform.
Who is it about? The streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys has been regarded as the “Queen of Twitch” for years. She was one of the few female streamers who consistently ranked among the 100 most-watched channels on Twitch and is even the only woman in the top 10 of content creators with the most followers on Twitch (via SullyGnome).
In contrast to her equally successful colleague Amouranth, Pokimane had a more family-friendly, squeaky clean image. This made her a fitting figurehead for the platform: Her face adorned the Twitch app for a long time.
But that apparently comes to an end now, as in a somewhat vague post, the streamer seems to announce her departure.

What exactly has Pokimane announced? In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the streamer shared a screenshot from the Twitch app on January 30. She wrote, “The end of an era. Twitch has been my home for more than a decade. But now it’s time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my time with League, Fortnite, and Among Us.”
The impression that Pokimane is leaving Twitch is further reinforced by the streaming platform’s response under her post: It states that it has been an incredible journey, and they are very proud of everything the streamer has achieved. “You will always have a home on Twitch, Poki,” says the comment on X.
Many fans are now wondering what will happen next for Pokimane. Is she perhaps switching to another platform, such as YouTube or even Kick? Or does the 27-year-old plan to hang up streaming altogether after more than 10 years in the business?
On Instagram, Pokimane announced that she would explain her post on January 31, 2024, in her podcast ‘don’t tell anyone with pokimane.’ Until then, fans may have to be patient. A departure from Twitch would not be entirely surprising, given that the streamer had already significantly reduced her streaming hours in 2022.
Back then, she announced that she felt she had done everything on Twitch and wanted to focus more on other platforms.
