The community in Pokémon Unite demands a report system after a video of a player went viral. MeinMMO explains the situation and the reactions of the players.
In all types of multiplayer games, there are always trolls who ruin the fun for serious players. This is especially inconvenient in critical situations like ranked matches.
In Pokémon Unite, it has become a hobby for many Master players to troll. After a player reaches the Master rank, there is nothing left for them to do except perhaps climb the global leaderboard. As a result, some create a smurf account or troll directly with their main account.
However, there are also players who want to ruin your stay on the lanes. This was the case for Reddit user malva8. They shared their plight with the Reddit community in a video:
It shows how he chooses the jungle as Nebulak and wants to defeat the wild Pokémon for experience points (XP). However, his teammate Relaxo intervenes and steals the XP by dealing the final blow.
The community demands a proper report system
Under the video, comments from players who have gone through similar experiences are gathering, demanding a proper report system. Currently, it is possible to report a player after a match if they are AFK or become abusive in the lobby chat.
This only results in the player losing ten “Fair Points” and being temporarily excluded from the chat after further reports. Furthermore, you can block a player, but this does not prevent you from playing a match with them again.
This is what the community writes:
There should be a report related to trolling. But since reports in this game apparently mostly run automatically, without moderation, I think they just skipped that. There is no reason to hire real people to oversee bans.

Subsequently, BotMaster6000 expresses concern:
The problem is that there is no way to introduce such a report system without people abusing it and falsely reporting innocent players. Unless they manually review the reports, but I don’t think that will be possible.
However, Tunasallad (via reddit) is sure:
Dota 2 has it.
LoL has it.
CS:GO has it.
Most multiplayer games have report systems.
Now they may not work perfectly and sometimes make the wrong decisions. (…) But I’d rather have a system that identifies obvious cases of trolling and bad behavior than none at all.
User lazerbeambbq has another good idea (via reddit):
No report system. Avoid system yes. This system would ensure that this person is the last one matched with you in a game, unless there is no other option. This could prolong the wait time for a match, but this is a sacrifice that most would certainly make.
We can only hope that Pokémon Unite continues to be optimized and soon brings a feature that prohibits active trolling.
Have you ever been a victim of trolls or have you yourself trolled others? Would you like to see such a report system for Pokémon Unite? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
