In a new game like the Pokémon TCG Pocket, there is usually something new that players can discover, especially at the beginning. A player has reported a discovery on Reddit.
Recently, the new Pokémon TCG Pocket was released for Android and iOS devices. The game, which in a way can also be seen as a Pokémon GO alternative for lazy players, once again brings the Pokémon trading card game to mobile devices.
One of the core elements is undoubtedly collecting cards that you primarily receive by opening booster packs. The fact that the selection of the booster is not as random as you might think has now been proven by a trainer on Reddit.
Selecting the booster is a waste of time
What did the player find out? Currently, there is only the booster series “Unbeatable Genes” in the game, where you can choose between the versions Mewtwo, Pikachu, and Charizard. Depending on your choice of version, you can receive different cards in the booster.
Once you have chosen a version and pressed the “Open 1 Pack” button, you can choose and open various boosters from that version.
And this selection has no impact on the cards you draw from the booster. As the player stated in his post on Reddit, he was already able to see the cards his friend would draw when his friend was still in the process of selecting the booster.
In the wonder selection, you can draw one of the cards that a friend of yours received in the last booster. And if you are quick enough, you can even find out which cards your friend will draw before he knows it himself.
Thus, it is completely irrelevant how often you go through all possible boosters during the selection and which one you choose: The cards you receive are already predetermined by the game.
Therefore, it doesn’t matter if the boosters are depicted as slightly thicker, thinner, or with a slight crease at the top end of the booster. All of that has no influence on the cards you receive.
Although the game was only released a week ago, it has already been downloaded millions of times.
