In Pokémon TCG Pocket there are some strong combinations with Misty. One of the best for your Water deck is presented to you today.
In the pocket version of the Pokémon trading card game, you can currently collect a lot of cool cards. Some of them are better than others – and the best can quickly lead to a lot of victories. Especially in the currently ongoing PvP event, it’s essential to be able to counter your opponents with strong cards.
One of the current top cards in the game isn’t even a monster but a trainer card: Misty makes players tremble right now.
What makes Misty so good? The trainer card of Misty has a powerful effect:
“Choose 1 of your Water Pokémon and then flip 1 coin until it shows heads. Attach 1 Water energy from your energy pile to that Pokémon for each heads you flip.”
This means: You can charge your Water Pokémon extremely quickly with a lot of energy. Theoretically, this is even possible in the first round, where no energy is generated that you could attach. Misty simply makes your Pokémon dangerous anyway – and depending on what monsters you have played out and how much energy you get, this can already be game-changing before your opponent can even really start playing.
Intense combination of Misty and Articuno-ex is almost unbeatable at best
This is the combo: The combination of Articuno-ex and Misty causes problems when it works. Articuno-ex is a basic Pokémon that you can play immediately without needing to evolve anything. It also comes with 140 HP, which is not easy to bring down to 0.
Additionally, Articuno has a powerful attack called Blizzard: It deals 80 damage to your opponent’s active Pokémon and additionally inflicts 10 damage to each opposing Pokémon that your opponent has on the bench.
If you play Articuno-ex in the first turn and also have luck with the Misty coin flip, it may happen that you can activate this strong attack right at the beginning of the game. And then it will be difficult for your opponent to really get into the game.
Other powerful monsters are also an option: In Water decks, you can also play other cards that benefit greatly from Misty. These include, for example, Starmie-ex or Lapras-ex, which you can draw from the current PvE event.
Another strong card that you can power up with Misty is Gyarados. Its Hyper Beam requires 4 energies but also does 100 damage and removes an energy from your opponent’s Pokémon. Since Gyarados also has 150 HP, it is extremely hard to defeat. However, you first need to evolve a Magikarp for Gyarados, which makes it a bit more difficult to play. Additionally, it has no alternative attack if you can’t gather the energies.
Is Misty OP in Pokémon TCG Pocket? Sort of. It is undisputed that she is extremely strong when her effect works well and provides you with a massive amount of energy at once. At the same time, it is also true that Misty can simply have no effect if the first coin flip goes wrong. For example, to get the four energies for Gyarados in one go, a lot has to go very well.
