What is Mew ex? The Pokémon card Mew has already appeared in the first three booster packs, but with the new booster pack Mystical Island, the ex card of Mew has been introduced. Even before its release, the card was considered strong: Pokémon TCG Pocket: Mew ex will be your counter against the strongest cards in the game
With the attack “Genome Hacking,” Mew-ex can cause enormous damage. It requires three colorless energies and allows Mew-ex to copy an attack from the opponent’s active Pokémon and use it on your turn.

How to build the Mew ex Deck
Which cards do I need? For the Mew ex deck, you obviously need Mew-ex, ideally packing two cards of it into your deck.
You should support your Mew with Gardevoir. The ability “Psychic Shadow” provides the active Pokémon with an additional energy once per turn. This way, you can attack faster with Mew-ex. So you will need the following cards:
- 2x Trasla
- 2x Kirlia
- 2x Gardevoir
We recommend selecting these supporter and item cards:
- 2x Pokéball
- 2x Professor’s Research
- 2x Potion
- 2x Giovanni
- 2x Sabrina
- 2x Blue
Second way to play Mew-ex
How else can I play Mew-ex? If you don’t want to build an extra deck around Mew-ex, you can simply integrate Mew into another existing deck.
The advantage of the attack “Genome Hacking” is that it requires three colorless energies. This means it doesn’t matter what type of energy you attach to Mew; the attack can strike with three energies.
