In Pokémon TCG Pocket, the first PvP event started a few days ago. However, many players are already frustrated because other trainers are trying – Warning: earworm alert – “to be the very best like no one ever was.”
What is this PvP Event? With the first PvP event, Pokémon TCG Pocket rewards players who compete against other trainers. With the collected cards, decks can be created to compete against other players in PvP mode.
As a reward, players can earn emblems to showcase in their profile. This way, they can show other trainers that their deck performs well in duels. To earn the highest-ranking emblem, players must win 45 battles.
However, during the battles, it turns out that other players are also trying to be the best in battle. This bothers users in a Reddit forum so much that they vent their frustration.
Here you can watch the best decks in the video:
Trainers use the best decks to win
What is the problem? As every player wants to win the emblems as quickly as possible, they play the strongest decks currently in the tier list. They complain about encountering the same decks in PvP mode, including Pikachu ex, Mewtwo ex, or Starmie ex.
The decks are so strong because ex-Pokémon can deal more damage than the normal versions of the Pokémon. For comparison: The standard Pikachu deals only 20 damage with Bite, while Pikachu ex deals 30 damage for each Electric Pokémon on the bench, totaling up to 90 damage.
This annoys players on Reddit immensely, as this thread shows:
Many players express what annoys them:
- Telfondon_ sums it up well: “Wait for 5 games and you will find at least 3 Pikachu or Mewtwo decks among the 5.”
- Outrageous-Singer888 wishes it were different: “I only have one and all I’ve seen are Mewtwo and Pikachu… I’m so bored of it”
- maxicoos seems to be losing hope: “Played 10 games, won 1”.
How can you counter this? The best way is to come up with a counter for the best decks. For Mewtwo ex, for example, the combination of Arbok and Pidgeot can help. This allows the opponent’s active Pokémon to be swapped out with Pidgeot and held in the active position with Arbok.
Alternatively, it is possible to jump on the trend and create one of the strongest decks yourself. Ultimately, how you decide is up to you.
If you’re not in the mood for the PvP event, you still have the PvE event currently running. In this, you can earn not only shop tickets and Stardust but also a special ex card: Pokémon TCG Pocket starts its first PvE event with Lapras – All info about the event
