In the new trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon, the differences and the cool new Pokémon of the two editions are shown.
The differences between Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are highlighted in the new trailer. There are many new Pokémon, characters, and features waiting for you in the new Pokémon generation. New villains that you will encounter on your adventures, as well as loyal souls who care for the well-being of Pokémon, can be found in the game.
The Aether Foundation
In the Alola region, there is a group that cares for weakened Pokémon. The “Aether Foundation” aims to protect injured Pokémon. They have created an artificial island where they care for the injured Pokémon. The island is called Aether Paradise and also serves as a place where the group conducts research projects. As the main character, it seems possible to visit the Aether Paradise during your adventure.
Ultra Beasts in Pokémon Sun and Moon
There are rumors about Ultra Beasts in the Alola region. They are mysterious beings with immense powers that instill fear among the inhabitants. Ultra Beasts are a potential threat to both humans and Pokémon! The Aether Foundation seems to be interested in these beings and is conducting research on them. So far, it is suspected that there are several Ultra Beasts, each with its own code name.
Although the body of UB-01 (Ultra Beast 01) consists of a glass-like substance, it can constantly change its shape. It is also unclear whether it has its own will or even feelings. This makes the Pokémon unpredictable and significantly creepier than its appearance alone suggests. Its movements are said to resemble those of a young girl. However, no one knows why that is.
Differences between Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon
The two editions operate with a time difference. Aside from a few scenes, Pokémon Sun follows the time of your Nintendo 3DS system, while the adventures in Pokémon Moon take place 12 hours later. But the two editions also differ in the various Pokémon. The legendary key Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala are each exclusive to one game.
Pokémon Finder – A kind of “Pokémon Snap”
One of the new features of the game is the Pokémon Finder, which is an extension of the Rotom Pokédex. With this feature, you can search for Pokémon in the game and then take photos of them. Throughout the Alola region, specific photo spots are available where you can use the Pokémon Finder to take snapshots of the Pokémon. There is also a rating system that evaluates your snapshots. If the photos are good enough, you will unlock features like camera zoom or other functions for the Pokémon Finder.
New Pokémon with Alola Forms in Pokémon Sun and Moon
There are some new Pokémon in Pokémon Sun and Moon waiting for you as a trainer. These include altered forms of already known Pokémon. Type: Null is a new Pokémon belonging to the Normal and Modification categories. It is allegedly created by humans and combines the abilities of many Pokémon to be unbeatable.
Miniras is a Dragon Pokémon that belongs to the Pangolin category. It can use its scales offensively for attack and defensively for protection.
The image also shows the Alola form of Rattfratz and its evolution Rattikarl. The Alola form of Rattikarl belongs to the Normal and Dark categories.
Team Skull – The Villains
As a counterpart to the benevolent Aether Foundation, Team Skull roams the Alola region. This group of villains spreads fear and a bad reputation by stealing other trainers’ Pokémon or vandalizing trial areas. Many other misdeeds are attributed to this group.
Zygarde Search in Pokémon Sun and Moon
During your adventures, you will encounter 2 familiar faces. Dexio and Sina are known from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y as assistants to the professor. In the new generations, you will receive the Zygarde Cube from them. You are supposed to collect Zygarde cores and Zygarde cells that can be found all over Alola. Zygarde is a legendary Pokémon that has existed since Generation 6 in Pokémon.
In the official trailer, you can recap what awaits you in Pokémon Sun and Moon:
