The question of which is the strongest and best Pokémon of all is no longer so easy to answer today. A YouTuber has now set out to find the answer for you and spared no effort.
Some of you may still remember the beginnings of Pokémon and a time when there were not over 1,000 of the little monsters. Back then, the question of the best Pokémon was quite easy to answer. Magikarp would probably have been named by everyone as the weakest and Mew or Mewtwo as the strongest Pokémon.
Today, however, it’s not as clear as it was back then. The YouTuber Astriod Videos (also known as Frank Redisi) scientifically explored the question of the best Pokémon and actually has an answer for you.
How did he proceed? The viral Pokémon professor simulated a total of 1,810,053 battles for his research, in which he had all Pokémon – including Mega Evolutions and alternative forms – battle against each other. Each battle duo had to fight three 1v1 battles.
For the battles, Redisi ensured that each Pokémon entered the fight with its best conditions and Z-Moves, Dynamaxing, and Terastalizing were prohibited.
And although this is quite impressive, even this experiment is not perfect. Because a few Pokémon were left out. For example, Flabébé was not considered. The YouTuber simply stated that his hand hurt after inserting so much manually. However, looking at the results, this can be forgiven, as fans can be relatively sure that a Flabébé would not have changed much about the worst and best Pokémon.
In fact, Redisi created an enormous list of 1,098 Pokémon ranked by their win-loss ratio after his 30-hour simulation. You can find his video on YouTube.
Mewtwo no longer makes it to the top spot
Which is the best Pokémon? Before we reveal to you the currently best Pokémon, we must admit that Mewtwo will no longer capture this spot. In this ranking, its normal form only makes it to place 93. However, its Mega Evolution X managed to reach place 41.
If any of you have placed bets on Arceus as the best Pokémon, you are also wrong. It reached place 10. The top spot is actually held by the Pokémon Endynalos.
If you haven’t played Pokémon Sword and Shield yet, you might not even know what that is. In this game, Endynalos was a boss opponent fairly far into the endgame. You can’t even catch this Pokémon in the game. You can only obtain its normal form, but that only reached place 25 in the ranking.
You should not call Magikarp the worst Pokémon anymore according to this ranking. It is only in fourth-last place and even managed to win a total of 92 battles. Cosmog, Cosmoem, and Caterpie performed worse.
