Despotar is considered one of the strongest raid bosses in Pokémon GO. These two players demonstrate in the video how they defeated it without any additional support.
Since the major Arena update in Pokémon GO, you can find particularly strong Pokémon in battle places known as “raid bosses.” In raids, you fight alongside a group of trainers against a strong raid boss with many competition points.
The bosses have different difficulty levels, and Despotar is considered one of the toughest opponents. It has now been defeated by two trainers. Machomei played a significant role in this.
Machomei, the fighting wonder – top attacker
For the fight against a Despotar, several trainers are suggested according to the difficulty overview. This is because Despotar, like Lapras, Relaxo, and Bisaflor, belongs to difficulty level 4 and actually requires 5 or more trainers. This number of trainers is recommended to have enough power against the strong raid bosses and to defeat them within the given time limit.

For this specific battle, it was important that the players had strong Machomei in their collection. The move “Counter” also plays a significant role in this battle – all attackers apparently mastered this move.

- First, players are amazed at how many strong Machomei with the right movesets belong to this trainers’ collection. A Machomei with high IV values and Counter is currently among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
- Secondly, people are particularly surprised that at the end of the video only one ball and one Razz Berry are used to catch the Despotar “easily”. Normally, it is harder to catch such strong raid Pokémon. Luck apparently played a big role here.
