The Ghost Pokémon of the 3rd generation have appeared since the start of the Halloween event in Pokémon GO. One of the five is available as a Shiny variant.
On Friday evening, the Halloween event started in Pokémon GO. During the event, players are rewarded with “sweet” bonuses for catching, hatching, and sending Pokémon. In addition, five Ghost Pokémon from the 3rd generation are expected in the game. As trainers have discovered, there is currently one of them also in its Shiny variant.
Gen 3 Ghost Shinies
Since yesterday (October 20), Pokémon GO trainers worldwide have been out trying to catch the new monsters. In the game, there are now Zubiris, Shuppet, Banette, Zwirrlicht, and Zwirrklop. This is a special moment for the Pokémon GO community, as trainers can now catch the monsters from the Hoenn region in the wild for the first time.
Surprisingly, trainers have now discovered a special form of one of the five new ghosts. This refers to Zubiris. The monster with the “diamond eyes” has been found by some trainers not only in its normal purple appearance but also as Shiny.
Shinies are visually altered variants of Pokémon and are very rare in Pokémon GO. The Reddit user Ryozaaki confirms the Shiny form with the following screenshot:
Why only one Shiny?
During data mining a few days ago, several Shiny forms of the 3rd Gen were discovered. Trainers assumed that all ghosts could be encountered in their Shiny form. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment.
The Shiny reports so far only refer to Zubiris. None of the other four ghosts have been discovered in their Shiny form during the Halloween event. To date, there are only five other Shiny variants in Pokémon GO: Magikarp and Gyarados as well as Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu.
We are curious whether there will be more Shiny surprises for Halloween. Have you caught a Shiny Zubiris yet?
