Which features are now available? If you click on the Pokédex, which has recently received a new design, you will find two new options.

Especially this first feature is very beneficial when you are searching for specific Pokémon. We will show you how the two features work and how they can be helpful to you.
The new Pokédex alarm
How do I use the Pokédex alarm? You click into the Pokédex and select a Pokémon. This can be one that you have already caught or one that you have at least seen before. The latter are identifiable by the fact that they are only represented by a shadow.
The Pokémon that are only a number in your Pokédex cannot currently be selected.
Once you have selected a Pokémon, you will find a new switch called “Alarm On” under its name, which you can activate. If you do that, you will receive a push notification when the respective Pokémon is near you.
Additionally, the selected Pokémon will be prioritized on the “Nearby” screen. This means: You can now search for specific Pokémon more purposefully.
Especially for rare monsters, this is a great thing. Monsters like Frospino, Grolldra, or other unusual spawns are worth it.
However, there seem to be certain Pokémon for which you cannot activate an alarm. Zorua is one such example. That makes sense, after all, this is a disguised Pokémon that is randomly and quite difficult to find. There are also a few other exceptions that have special spawn conditions.
And there is one more new feature.
Types and moves at a glance
Do you want to learn more about a specific Pokémon? You can now also do that with the Pokédex. Because it now shows you the type weaknesses and strengths when you select your Pokémon in the overview. This way, you can quickly determine whether they are worth using as attackers for a specific raid.
Additionally, you now have the option to view the possible moves of a Pokémon in the Pokédex. This is also helpful if you want to know whether you can teach your attackers specific moves at all.
Of course, you could always find such information in other ways, such as online. But having it in the game now is a nice improvement if you don’t want to switch between applications.
