The baby Pokémon in Pokémon GO allows players to hatch eggs again. We tell you how rare the babies are in eggs.
Those who want the new baby Pokémon available since the Christmas event need to hatch 7 km eggs. Mampfaxo, Klingplim, and Mantirps exclusively hatch from 7 km eggs.
Now that some trainers have gathered their yield from the eggs, one can take a first stock to see how rare the new babies are.
Mampfaxo, Klingplim and Mantirps: How rare are the new babies
How are the numbers calculated? On Reddit, a survey was started where every player could enter their yield from the new eggs. Here, the community is to be relied upon. If every player voted correctly, then one has a fairly accurate result.
The probabilities are as follows: A total of 14,867 eggs were hatched. The results are as follows:
- Mampfaxo: 308 (2.07%)
- Klingplim: 34 (0.23%)
- Mantirps: 78 (0.52%)
- Other Pokémon: 14,447 (97.17%)
What does this mean? The new baby Pokémon are extremely rare to obtain. Mampfaxo was implemented by Niantic with an increased chance of hatching. This chance is about 2%, which is very low overall.
The other two babies are even rarer to obtain. According to the evaluation, one gets Klingplim from every 400 eggs. If this low probability remains, it will be difficult to hatch all the babies by the end of the Christmas event.
How meaningful is this evaluation? Over 14,000 eggs were included in the calculation. Even if some players did not provide correct information, the mass compensates for these inaccuracies. Even if the numbers are not entirely correct, this evaluation indicates one thing: these new baby Pokémon are very rare.
How do I get the babies? The baby Pokémon hatch, along with other babies and Alolan Pokémon, exclusively from 7 km eggs. These can only be obtained from gifts from friends. You cannot get them from PokéStops.
