In Pokémon GO a new event will start soon: Scorching Steps. This brings you the chance to get Shiny Ignivor. But you will need a lot of luck.
What kind of event is this? Scorching Steps mainly focuses on fire Pokémon and hatching eggs. Accordingly, the bonuses will also head in that direction.
When does the event start? On Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM. It will end on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 8:00 PM.

The highlight Pokémon of Scorching Steps is extremely rare
What is the highlight? This should be the debut of Shiny Ignivor, which can evolve into Ramoth. Ignivor and especially its evolution are popular Pokémon, but they come with a problem in Pokémon GO: They are brutally rare.
As of now, you can get Ignivor from eggs in Pokémon GO, but it is represented at the rarest level. Some players may still not have found one to this day.
The current announcement also emphasizes that it will remain rare: Players with “very much luck” will be able to hatch an Ignivor from 2-, 5-, or 10-km eggs. Regarding the shiny variant, the announcement states that it can hatch, “if luck is in your favor” (via pokemongolive.com).
In short: It will likely remain difficult to get one, and Shiny Ignivor is expected to become one of the rarest monsters in the game. But at least you can dive into the egg bonuses that will be active during the event.
These are the bonuses: You will receive double candies for each egg hatched, and the hatching distance will be halved during the event. For example, a 10-km egg will only cost you a 5-km walk.
In addition, there is even a quarter distance for the first three eggs in the event that you hatch using the egg widget for your smartphone.
Accordingly, you can try over the four days to increase your chances of getting Ignivor by hatching many eggs during extended walks. Also, there is an increased chance of shiny Schneckmag and Leufeo, which could be cool for your collection if you still need them.

In particular, the 10-km eggs may be worthwhile in this event to possibly hatch the also rare Knarbon. Here seems to be the best chance of getting an Ignivor or Knarbon.
