The Community Days in June and July of Pokémon GO will once again be determined by you. You can choose whether you want Squirtle or two of the other three Pokémon to be the focus of the events.
What’s new? On the evening of May 18, 2020, Niantic announced on social media that voting for Community Days is returning.
For you, this means that you determine which Pokémon will be in focus at
- Community Day in June 2020
- and at Community Day in July 2020
in the spotlight. You have the choice between 4 Pokémon. Such a voting took place in January 2020 as well.

Which Pokémon are up for vote? Niantic presents four possible candidates that will be in the spotlight during the next two Community Days. They will learn special moves when you evolve them or their evolutions.
- Squirtle – If you evolve Wartortle, Blastoise will learn the Fighting move Aura Sphere.
- Weedle – If you evolve Kakuna, Beedrill will learn the Ground move Drill Run.
- Sandshrew – This refers to the Kanto form that appears in the wild and hatches from eggs. In raids, there would be Alolan Sandshrew. If you evolve Sandshrew or Alolan Sandshrew, Sandslash or Alolan Sandslash will learn the Ghost move Shadow Claw.
- Gastly – If you evolve Haunter, Gengar will learn the Ghost move Shadow Punch.
How to vote? To vote for the Community Days for June 2020 and July 2020, you need Twitter. Next weekend, on Sunday, May 24, you can vote for your favorite Pokémon starting at 03:00 on the official Twitter channel. You have one vote.
On May 25 at 03:00, the poll will then close. If you’re already on Twitter, then follow us from MeinMMO on Twitter.
- The Pokémon that receives the most votes will be in the spotlight at Community Day in June 2020
- The Pokémon with the second-most votes will be in the spotlight at Community Day in July 2020
What bonuses will there during the events? Niantic hasn’t revealed yet what bonuses will be active during these events in June and July. These will be announced during the official announcement of each Community Day.
