In Pokémon GO you now have the chance to catch the Galar forms of Ponyta and Porygon. We will show you how to do it and how to evolve them.
How long are Ponyta and Porygon available: The two Galar forms are only in the game to celebrate the release of the latest DLC of Pokémon Sword and Shield. The celebrations only last for one day.
On October 24 at 3:00 AM the event will be over and the Pokémon will disappear.
How to obtain and evolve Galar Porygon and Ponyta
How to catch Galar Ponyta: This Pokémon is initially only available in raids. You need to invest at least one raid pass to fill your PokéDex with the Galar form. You can also do this via remote raid.
After the event, Galar Ponyta, just like the Galar form of Porygon, will then be found in 7 km eggs.

But don’t worry, this is a level 1 raid. You will have no problems in battle.
You can then evolve Galar Ponyta in the usual way. You just need to invest candies and then you will get Galar Rapidash.
How to get Galar Porygon: This Pokémon appears in the wild. When you’re out and about, you will encounter one of these specimens now and then. They are really not that rare.
It is already the second time that Galar Porygon is in the wild.
Evolving Galar Porygon – Here’s how: This is a bit more complicated. First, you need to have the Porygon you want to evolve as a buddy.
Then you need to make 10 excellent throws. So you will need to show off your throwing skills. However, there is no time limit for this. You can complete this task at your own pace.
If you’ve managed that, the evolution to Lurantis will happen. This will be a completely new PokéDex entry for you.
Are the two Pokémon worth it? In short: Neither Lurantis nor Galar Rapidash will become very strong.
We have taken a closer look at the stats of the two Pokémon and provide you with the overview here:
