In Pokémon GO the Mystery Bonus Hour starts this evening, February 6th. We will show you what will happen there.
What kind of event is this? This event starts for the first time in Pokémon GO. There will be a special bonus in the game for one hour.
This is part of the two test events that Pokémon GO recently announced. During this time, the Spotlight Hour also took place on Tuesday. There were increased encounters with Onix for an hour.
The event hour has already taken place in some countries, so we can already say what to expect at 6 PM.
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The event starts at 6 PM local time and lasts for one hour – until 7 PM
What bonus is there? Players from New Zealand report that there is double Stardust to be gained. However, this seems to apply only to catching Pokémon.
Double Stardust for one hour: Trainers from New Zealand and Australia are already at 6 PM and the bonus is active there. Therefore, we can say what will happen here at 6 PM local time.

Is this event hour worth it? As a bonus, an increase in Stardust is quite interesting. This is probably one of the most interesting bonuses that Niantic can unlock.
Double Stardust only for catching Pokémon, and only for one hour, may not make a significant difference in the end.
What do players say about the event? They are happy about the bonus and say that Stardust is always useful. However, many trainers wonder why there isn’t more Stardust – after all, it is only for one hour and even five times Stardust wouldn’t make a huge difference.
As redwingMY says on reddit: “The Mystery Bonus Hour is only one hour, why can’t Niantic give us more Stardust? 6x or 10x Stardust would make me shift my meal time to after 7 PM.”
louizilla says: “2x Stardust for 1 hour seems very little. They should have opted for something more exciting like 5x Stardust. Then more people would want to go out for an hour, and it is not too exaggerated that it would overshadow Community Day, which gives 3x Stardust for 3 hours.”
