Pokémon GO: Midnight Form of Lycanroc – How to Evolve Rockruff

What is it about? In Pokémon GO, the White Odyssey event is just around the corner. It will start on January 6 and be active until January 10. What about Rockruff? Rockruff is a Rock-type Pokémon from the 7th generation. The special feature of Rockruff is that its evolution, Lycanroc, has 3 different forms that it can have. These are the Day Form, the Night Form, and the Dusk Form. Until now, only the first two forms have been activated in Pokémon GO.

Not all Rockruff can evolve into the Dusk Form of Lycanroc

How do I obtain Rockruff during the event? During the event, you have various ways to obtain Rockruff. You can hatch it from 2 km and 7 km eggs, as well as from eggs that you received as Adventure Sync rewards from the current season.

Furthermore, you can encounter Rockruff in 1* raids, as a reward through field research, and in the second part of the special research Timeless Travels.

How can I obtain Lycanroc in the Dusk Form? To evolve Rockruff into the Dusk Form of Lycanroc, you cannot use older Rockruff that you have already caught before the event. Only specimens caught during the event can be evolved into the Dusk Form of Lycanroc.

However, not every Rockruff can be used. Whether a Rockruff you obtained is suitable for this evolution is purely random. So, if you want to ensure that you can add Lycanroc in the Dusk Form to your collection, you might need to collect multiple Rockruff.
