In Pokémon GO, there might be a Community Day with Abra at the end of April. Data miners have found hints about the rescheduling of the canceled event.
This is the status of the Community Day: The Community Day with Abra was announced for March 2020, but due to the coronavirus, the event was canceled. So far, there have been no updates on whether and when the event will take place.
However, there are hints from data miners suggesting that the Community Day is still to be held at the end of April. However, it seems there will be some adjustments.
This is how Pokémon GO might host the Community Day
This is what the leaks show: In the code of Pokémon GO, data miners found an event for April 25. This event is supposed to be ticketed, and one gets a medal for participating.
This event on April 25 is supposed to revolve around Abra. The code indicates that there will be a special research related to the Community Day with Abra, which is scheduled to take place from 11 AM to 5 PM local time.
Additionally, a Community Day box and spawn adjustments related to Abra have also been found. The box is said to include Elite TMs, which can otherwise only be earned in the PvP league.
Which attack is supposed to be exclusive? The exclusive attack for Alakazam is expected to be the fast move Counter. It is a Fighting-type move and is likely useful in the PvP league. Unfortunately, Counter does not help Alakazam in raids.
What does this mean for the Community Day? It is not entirely clear yet if a ticket has to be purchased to participate in the Community Day. However, it seems that the special research is definitely related to Abra.
Previously, during the Safari Zone in St. Louis, every trainer received a free special research that ultimately yielded a Shiny Teddiursa. Something similar could happen during the Community Day in April. At least you would get a guaranteed Shiny Abra, and the rest can be caught in the wild with some luck. However, this is purely speculation at this point.
How likely is this? So far, this is just a finding from data miners. Niantic does not have to conduct it the same way, but it sounds plausible to enable a Community Day during the coronavirus crisis.
Nevertheless, one must wait until Niantic releases information about it. However, you can mark April 25 for a potential event.
