In Pokémon GO, raids from home will soon start. Developer Niantic gives a glimpse into how the system will work from home.
This was revealed: After there were only leaks, there is now the first real information about the raids from home. Niantic now writes in their own blog what to expect from home raids.
These partly match the previous leaks, but also reveal further information about the raids from home.
This is how the raids from home work
This item comes into play: There will be a new raid pass, the so-called remote raid pass. With this, you can participate in all raids that you can see in the nearby list from home.
Otherwise, the raid pass functions normally and can be used for any raid.
The remote raid pass is initially supposed to cost 100 PokéCoins, which is the same as a normal raid pass. However, there should also be a bundle of the pass available for purchasing for one PokéCoin.
These are the restrictions: Those who participate in a raid from a distance can only deal reduced damage with their Pokémon. At the beginning of the feature, however, this restriction is not expected to apply yet. This will be introduced over time.
Additionally, only a limited number of players can be in the raid lobby from a distance.
So how can you participate? You can do any raid from home that you can recognize within your vicinity. However, if you cannot see a gym from your house, then the remote raid pass will not help you.
Otherwise, you can just click on the raid normally and use the remote raid pass. You just need to be outside the gym range.
When will the remote raids be available? There is not yet a specific date for this. However, a release is expected soon. Some trainers suspect the start next Monday. There should then be a further box for one PokéCoin. It would make sense if this is filled with the remote raid passes and marks the start of the remote raids.
Niantic announces further adjustments for home
This is what will change regarding quests: Every day, trainers should gain access to a special field research. This will not be obtained from the PokéStop and should be easily solvable from home. This way, you can receive a stamp for the research breakthrough without going outside.
This is what changes with the gifts: Also here, a leak coincides with the information from Niantic: Your buddies should soon be able to bring you gifts. This way, you can get gifts without spinning PokéStops.
Here you can save a lot of time in the future: There are also two announcements from Niantic that could save you a lot of time. Soon, you will be able to level up Pokémon much faster. You will probably only need to press once to bring a Pokémon to the desired level.
Additionally, you will be able to use multiple items, such as lucky eggs, incense, or star pieces, simultaneously multiple times to extend their duration. If you use two lucky eggs at once, the bonus will last for an hour. This way, you won’t miss the reuse of the item.
