What is the flying Pikachu? Starting tomorrow, July 3rd, the three-week event marathon until GO Fest will begin. This event will also include the appearance of flying Pikachus. They are expected to appear as Shiny as well.
Until now, there has been speculation around this Pikachu. Can the creature really fly and what does it look like? Now, the first images of the flying Pikachu have surfaced.

However, Pikachu itself does not fly; it just hangs from balloons. The Shiny form has also been found. So you can go on a Shiny hunt as well.
Although the images have not yet been officially confirmed, one can be quite sure that this is what the flying Pikachu will look like. After all, it wouldn’t make sense for Niantic to include such a Pikachu form in their game files.
What is the story behind the flying Pikachu? This Pikachu comes from a Pokémon card. The collectible card is quite rare, and the flying Pikachu has only appeared there. You can also see the card in our title image.
It is the first time that Pokémon GO has implemented elements that have only existed in the card game. Many other costume Pikachus have been introduced without any connection to another game.
This is still unclear: Also surfaced in the code of Pokémon GO is the new move Fly. It is still not entirely clear what this move can do and who will be able to learn it. The flying Pikachu would certainly be a possibility for that, but it has not been confirmed yet.
