In Pokémon GO there is currently a new Pokémon named Flunschlik to catch. And indeed, one should try to get a good specimen – for the league.
This is Flunschlik: Flunschlik appeared with the “Tricky Pokémon” event in the wild. This brought prankster and disguise Pokémon such as Mogelbaum, Tarnpignon, and a lot of Ditto to the map – and also the rather inconspicuous flounder Flunschlik. It looks quite harmless – and might therefore be neglected by many trainers.
The event runs until April 7th. It is possible that you can still catch Flunschlik well even afterwards. For safety, one should secure a Flunschlik with good stats during the event instead of just catching it for the Pokédex.
A good Flunschlik is worthwhile
What do you need a Flunschlik for? When it comes to gyms and raids, you can rather ignore Flunschlik. However, an analysis by Reddit user “JRE47” shows that a good Flunschlik can really help you in PvP.
It is not one of the absolute top Pokémon in the three leagues. But in the Super League, which goes up to 1500 CP, Flunschlik can help you. Flunschlik has also been ranked in Tier 2 of the Super League monsters on “Gamepress.gg“, on a level with monsters like Tropius, Nachtara, or Bollterus. With the unique combination of the types Electric and Ground, it can surprise unprepared opponents.
Compared to other Electric-type monsters, it is not the best counter against Water, but it is good against Flying Pokémon. It also fares well against Steel, Poison, Rock, Fire, or Electric. A strong argument is the fast attacks Thunder Shock and Mud Shot, which quickly generate a lot of energy for you. The charged attacks Mud Bomb, Charge Beam, and Mud Sludge are also quickly usable.
In addition to the fast attacks, Flunschlik is also quite good at enduring in battle. Above all, it holds its own against popular meta-monsters like Registeel and Azumarill, which can provide you with crucial advantages.
